Happy Wednesday! Hope you are doing well today and staying warm! For today’s Woman Crush Wednesday, let’s bring back the OG and Queen of all Lifestyle Blogs/Brands, Gwyneth Paltrow!
You may have seen in movies like Avengers, Iron Man or maybe you read her Lifestyle Blog, Goop, or maybe you’ve seen her on a magazine, whatever it is, it seems like Gwyneth Paltrow has done it all.
Name: Gwyneth Kate Paltrow
Date of Birth: September 27, 1972
Occupation: Actress, Singer, Entrepreneur and Blogger
WHY SHE’S MY #WOMANCRUSHWEDNESDAY
The main reason why Gwyneth Paltrow is my #WCW is because of her drive and doing whatever the f*ck she wants. I love that she has managed to be a successful actress, but has also branched in other things and has been successful.
I started my first blog in 2015 and it seemed just about everyone was starting one too. One of my biggest fears in life is losing my identity and I didn’t want to be just another blogger who wrote and posted the same thing like everyone. Losing my identity, not having a voice, not having my own identity, being and doing something I’m not, is my biggest fear (besides snakes, that will always be #1). I did not want to be the cookie cutter blogger, person, who followed a trend, who wore what everyone else was wearing, who did this and that because everyone else was doing it too, who owned whatever everyone has just for the sake of it. I have nothing against anyone who follows trends or is “basic,” but that’s not me. If you like trends, by any means, follow/wear/buy whatever your heart desires, but it’s not me. Gwyneth Paltrow is not a rule follower, she’s a rule breaker and trend setter.
I don’t read and follow GOOP religiously, but it is a site that I frequent here and there. I just love that it’s not like other blogs who copy each other – it has it’s own voice and stays true to the GOOP brand. When I first launched my blog 4 years ago, I was SOOOO scared and overwhelmed. My type A personality and my desire for everything to be perfect, had me comparing my not so perfect blog to blogs like GOOP. I didn’t want to be Gwyneth Paltrow and GOOP, but I wanted to create a “brand” of my own. I wanted NINETYFOUR87 and ALSL Blog to be something that people wanted to read and inspire people. I’m not saying my blog is anywhere near GOOP status (because it is VERY far from it – I’m like Z list and GOOP is A list), but I think following and reading GOOP has helped me not be a cookie cutter blogger.
MY FAVOURITE GWYNETH PALTROW MOMENTS
Instead of adding my favourite Gwyneth Paltrow moments, I wanted to share my favourite GOOP blog posts.
