Hope you’re all doing well! I hope you are all having a fun and safe weekend so far! Today’s post is dedicated to National Suicide Prevention Day. Although I think this should be a daily reminder to be nice to everyone, it’s a great way to raise awareness on suicide prevention and mental illness.
If you feel alone, depressed, struggling etc. please know that you are not alone. Please don’t be afraid to speak up. Please don’t be afraid to tell your story. Please don’t be afraid to ask for help. Tell a family member, a friend, a teacher, a councillor, a co-worker, a stranger, anyone about your story. Or, write it on a piece of paper and get all the anger out. You are not what they think or say you are. You are not ugly, you are beautiful. You are not dumb, you are smart. You are not worthless, you are priceless. You are not weak, you are strong. You are not weird, you are unique and true to yourself. Please don’t let anyone else’s actions or words get to you. No one in this world has the right to judge you. Don’t be intimidated. Please don’t be ashamed. Please don’t feel like you need to end your life to end the misery. To end the hurt. No matter the reason, whether it’s about love, a loss, your job, financial problems etc., ending your life is not the answer. You can ask for help and know that people love and care for you. Please know that your loved ones will always support you. Please know that if you do not have any family or friends or think you have anyone to talk to, there is someone, somewhere, that will.
You‘re not alone. You are loved.
Please take a minute and help change a life. Tell someone you love them. Tell your family you love them. Tell your friends you love them. Tell your significant other you love them. Tell your co-workers you love them. Reassure the people in your life. Please be a little kinder, not just today, but everyday. Just because someone looks “normal” does not mean everything is all sunshines and rainbows. Say hi, smile, compliment someone, anyone, and make a difference.
